Bobcats Sweep Weekly Big Sky Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Honors

 Sept. 17, 2018 – BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State volleyball team, fresh off winning the Seattle U Invitational over the weekend, has swept the Big Sky Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

After playing in the Cleveland State Invitational last weekend, the Montana State volleyball team will make a 180 and head to the Rose City to take part in the University of Portland’s North Portland Marriott Invite. The Bobcats will open play against the Pilots, Thursday, Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. (MT). MSU will also face LIU Brooklyn on Friday at 4 p.m., and Wyoming on Saturday at 11 a.m.

FIGHT FOR THE FORT:

It’s a mouthful, but the Montana State volleyball team will compete in the TCU-Fight in the Fort presented by Aloft Fort Worth Downtown this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. The Bobcats will open play on Friday, Sept. 7 against Louisiana at 9 a.m. (MST). MSU will conclude the day against SMU at 2 p.m. The Cats close out the tournament against TCU on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Blackbirds Swoop Past Bobcats

Aug. 31, 2018 – PORTLAND, Ore. – LIU Brooklyn fought off four match points and used the momentum to rally past Montana State 22-25, 16-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-12 on Friday afternoon at the North Portland Marriott Invite.

Montana State (2-3) cruised to a 2-0 advantage outhitting LIU Brooklyn (2-3) .274 to .088 over the first two sets. The Bobcats held a 24-20 cushion in the third frame following a Kelsie White block, but the Blackbirds rallied with six straight points for the win.
