BOZEMAN -- Montana State University music student Logan Henke recently was selected to participate in the conducting masterclass session at the Northwest Division of the American Choral Director’s Association conference, to be held March 7-10 in Portland, Oregon.
Henke, a senior music education and music technology student from Miles City, was one of only four students from the six-state region to be selected as a full-participant / student conductor in the undergraduate division. He is also a student in the MSU Honors College.
"Logan has grown as a musician and in his ability to lead others in musical expression during his time at Montana State,” said Kirk Aamot, MSU director of choral activities. “I'm very excited for him to have this professional opportunity."
"I am deeply grateful for being selected to represent MSU at this conference,” Henke said. “And I must thank my mentor and friend, Professor Aamot, for his guidance and encouragement throughout my years here at the university. I am quite proud to be a part of the choral tradition here at Montana State."
The ACDA is the largest professional organization for conductors of choral music.
