BUTTE - The best players on the hardwood gathered Tuesday night at the HPER Center on the campus of Montana Tech to play in the Southwestern Montana Basketball All-Star Game.

The girls game led off the night, with the Big Sky squad defeating Treasure State 82-65. Big Sky opened and early lead and never looked back in securing the victory.

Aubrey McMaster and Kailee Oliverson led the scoring for the winners with 20 points each. Josee Hokanson and Brynlee Fitzgerald led Treasure State with 17 apiece.

Two locals represented Granite County in the game. Granite's Jaden Comings scored nine and Drummond's Allie Parke had three. Both will make the clubhouse turn into the final months of their senior year, with Comings playing tennis for the Lady Prospectors while Parke heads to the mound for the Lady Trojans on the softball diamond.

The girl's three-point competition came down to a tie between Oliverson of Twin Bridges and Britt Tierney of Butte, each hitting 12 from beyond the arc in the final. They faced off in a shot-for-shot shoot off with Tierney missing her first shot and Oliverson making hers for the crown.

The tempo and scoring picked up a bit when the boys tipped off in the nightcap, with Big Sky using a second-half comeback to stage a 101-94 win.

Max Feight led the winners in the book with 18, with six others all finding their way into double figures. Five of those players had 11 points, including Cade Holter, Clay Ferguson, Dylan McDermid, Dylan Sestrich and Nathan Morse. Aaron Richards rounded out Big Sky's top scorers with 10.

Braxton Hill led everyone in the contest with 24 for Treasure State, with his Anaconda teammate Trent Mi Kalatos the only other double-figure scorer at 13.

Three young men represented Granite County in this tilt, all playing for Treasure State. Trojans Jonah Parke finished with six points, Luke Holland had four while Prospector Colton Grange was held scoreless. All three will head to their respective track and field teams this spring, with Grange being the only senior.

The three-point contest came down to Dax Thornton of Lima beating out Parke of Drummond, 12-6.
